Great news! My video is FINALLY done.

After spending another week re-editing my Crowding Out and Government Debt video, my boss finally liked it! I feel like a giant weight has been lifted off my shoulder.

This week, I’ve also taken the time to create some standards for all of the intern videos. I created an intro/outro video and title slide for everyone to use. In addition, I’ve been helping out the fellow interns with their videos and teaching them how to use Adobe Premiere.

Now I am working on my second video about Car Insurance. So far i’ve completed all of my research, interview questions and conducted 2 interviews with experts. Now I have to write a script and get it approved to start working on the video aspect.

In my weekly news seminar, I got the opportunity to talk to Wisconsin’s Governor, Scott Walker. My favorite part of the day was being able to show off my broadcasting journalism skills in the news writing section and video editing boot camp. For once, I felt really confident in my news reporting skills and I got lots of praise!

Never more in my life have I felt more confident in my career decisions. I’m beyond grateful for this internship because I really know that news is what I want to do with my career and I now have the connections to make my dream career a reality.
